Valentine's Day at La Suite West
Valentine's Day was different this year
Usually, Suraj and I don't do much for Valentine's Day. We find it quite commercialised and don't like to buy into it. However, this year, Suraj told me to keep the day free because he had some treats planned for us!
One of the treats was dinner at Raw, which is a restaurant in a hotel called La Suite West. We've already had Afternoon Tea there and we enjoyed it so much, that we couldn't wait to return and have lunch or dinner there. Before we got a chance to do this, we went for Afternoon Tea again; this time with a group of friends. Before we got there, we were remembering the plan that we made when we first visited. We even thought about going for a walk with our group of friends and then having dinner at Raw later that evening, but it didn't work out!
Dining at La Suite West
Raw, had a special set menu for Valentine's Day, as well as, their regular menu. Being my usual self, I opted for both. We got the set menu and chose some dishes from their A La Carte menu as well. Of course, we shared everything we got! What a treat!
We finished our meal with a pot of loose leaf tea.
I cannot begin to describe how creative, exciting and delicious the food was. If you get a chance; do book a table and enjoy the experience that follows!
Raw is a really nice restaurant which isn't huge but can cater for small groups. The atmosphere is calm, attentive, rich and cosy. I once questioned whether they should expand, so that they can seat more of us, but I don't think they should. It would lose the feel that they've worked so hard to create.
So once again, it is clear that eating out as a vegan is not rare, complex or frustrating, but rather the opposite; common, easy and a sheer delight.
"Being a vegan just helps me build up my self-esteem. I feel good about it every time I eat a meal."
