Find out how Wagamama has made ordering vegan food in their restaurants effortless
Wagamama: before introducing a dedicated vegan menu
Before Wagamama launched their vegan menu, they had many vegan options, whether they were vegan outright or dishes that could be veganised, I felt like I had a good amount of options there.
I guess the only down-side, if you can call it that; was that the customer would need to look at one folder to see what's vegan already and another to find out what could be veganised.
Every now and then, they'd change the recipe for a dish, and something that was vegan would become vegetarian, so checking the folders during each visit was essential.
These are some of the dishes that I've enjoyed at Wagamamas in the past.
Wagamama: post introducing a dedicated vegan menu
Now that Wagamama has a dedicated vegan menu, ordering is easier and quicker. I am assuming that when recipes change, it will be clear from the menu, which will be reassuring for customers who want to order vegan food.
Should restaurants have separate vegan menus?
I am grateful to those who are creating dedicated vegan menus. Wetherspoons and Carluccio's also have separate vegan menus. Without sounding as if I'm knocking their efforts, I think it would be awesome if restaurants incorporated all their options on one menu. Why? Well...recently, my colleague who is organising the Christmas social, called the restaurant to find out what the vegan options are, and the options sounded so good, that she and another colleague said they were going to order vegan food that night. If seeing vegan options on a menu inspires people to go vegan for that meal, in my eyes, that's great!
