Plant Shift

love ♥ living ♥ vegan

Following a plant-based or vegan lifestyle, is about food, drink, clothes, shoes, body treatments, hair products and more.

It's a conscious decision to think, walk and possibly, talk a better lifestyle.

I support individuals who are thinking about making the shift, as well as, those who have already begun their plant-based journey.

Review: Club Mexicana

Pop ups

Pop ups seem to be popping up all over the place at the moment!

Suraj and I found out about the various pop ups in Granary Square a couple of months ago.

It was exciting to see that many of them catered for, or exclusively provided, vegan food.

We couldn't eat any more at the time, so of course, we said we'd go back. Another place to add to the list of places that I want to eat at!

It wasn't a Club Mexicana day when we were there, but I heard lots about it afterwards, and after seeing photos of their creations, I felt like I couldn't get there soon enough!

A bit about Club Mexicana

I managed to chat to Meriel for a few minutes before lots of eager customers arrived. Meriel is the lovely, easy to talk to, generous and honest creator of Club Mexicana.

She was explaining that she follows a vegan diet herself and before provision of vegan food became more mainstream; she used to struggle when she went out with friends and couldn't eat much! They would tell her that the meat dishes were really nice and although she didn't want to eat them, she was frustrated that nobody was considering the needs of those who don't eat meat or any other bits from animals.

So what was her solution? To set something up herself! And what a success!

Club Mexicana provides fresh Tacos, which are served with freshly made soup, corn tortilla chips and dips. Just uploading the photos (above) makes me want to go and get a box now!

Why you should get the big box

You can take your time as you savour the contents of the big box, whilst you sit in the square. I found the square to be calming because of the space, the water feature and the atmosphere there.

The other reasons to get the big box are you get more tacos, you can try both fillings and for an extra pound, it's so worth it!
