I attended the launch of Will's Vegan Shoes and was so chuffed that I went!
I saw a range of styles and colours, for both, men and women.
It was SO exciting to know that they were all plant-based or as Will puts it, 'animal and human friendly.' The best bit is that they were not expensive.
I couldn't wait for the chance to interview him and tell you all about what he has to offer. So here goes...over to Will!
How would you summarise the mission of Will's Vegan Shoes?
Wills bridges the gap between the high street and ethical shoes.
What inspired you to create this business?
I wanted people to be able to make a positive choice with their footwear without any compromise on style, quality or price.
Why did you choose to focus exclusively on vegan shoes?
My perfect world is one where animals of any sort are not harmed. I only use vegan materials because I do not want anything to suffer for the sake of my shoes.
What is your role in the business?
Anyone who has ordered from Will's would know pretty much anything and everything! I create the collections, answer the phone, reply to emails, help ship the orders and all in between! I think it is nice to know the person you are buying from – it can be quite rare today, especially online. I love buying from small businesses - you know your custom is really valued and your money is going to real people – not an anonymous corporation.
What makes you different from other vegan shoe providers?
I think the combination of style, quality and price.
Can you share some information about you, prior to launching this company?
I guess I have always been a dreamer who thought he could have a day job doing something he believed in - and that could make positive a difference in the world.
Are you owned by, or in partnership with, another company that does test on animals or sell non-vegan products?
No, Will's is independently owned.
Where do you see the business going?
Right now I am very focussed on just providing nice looking, quality shoes that people like – with good customer service. If I can keep that up I am doing well!
Do you have any plans that will come into effect in the near future?
Well the big thing that just happened was extending £3 delivery and free returns and exchanges to the whole of Europe! I have becoming very good at using Google translate!
At the moment I am working on my autumn / winter collection – which is very exciting but don’t want to give anything away before September!
In the meantime there are new spring / summer styles being launching almost every week so there is lots happening!
I purchased a gorgeous cream pair of heels. They look good, feel good, are practical yet stylish, they're comfy, easy to walk in and they're cruelty free. What more could I ask for? :)
