Vegan croissants at Gloria Pretzels and Coffee
Update November 2019: This cafe is under new management and I don’t recommend going there any more.
Coffee shops...
My hubby loves coffee, and he enjoys sitting in coffee shops. He seems to have a radar that alerts him about new ones when they pop up! So...the radar went off, he went to check out Gloria Pretzels and Coffee, and he loved it straight away. He had a chat with the manager, found out what was vegan already, listened to her plans about introducing more vegan items, and recently, we went in together as she had brought some of them in!
Vegan croissants in Harrow Weald
I had heard about the Elderflower and Raspberry vegan croissants. The flavours intrigued me and I couldn't wait to try it! We called to check that they had some in stock and made a special trip sample these croissants. It was so worth it!
The croissant was crispy yet soft, and the flavours went well together. It was also made with brown flour which positively surprised me, especially because it didn't make the croissant dense.
I also found out that, to cater for their vegan customers, they make sure the soup is vegan, and they're planning to get different flavours of croissants in. How exciting!
Within a few days, Gloria Pretzels and Coffee had more vegan croissants!
One of them was charcoal and the other was an apricot croissant. Luckily for me, Suraj got both and brought half of each home for me to try. I tried the charcoal one first. I really enjoyed the subtle flavour and texture of it. I tried the apricot one second, and I decided that the I liked the croissant with and without the apricot filling. That's got to be a good thing!
Get your local cafe on board
Maybe you should encourage your local cafe to do something similar, and cater for the vegan crowd, and those who call themselves 'pure vegetarians' i.e. they don't eat eggs.
