Izgara: Turkish food that has lots of 'naturally' vegan options!
Izgara in Hatch End
Izgara is based in Hatch End. The restaurant is pretty big and can accommodate single diners, couples, small groups, and large parties too.
I've eaten there twice now and both times, the service was fabulous. The staff were polite, knowledgeable, humble and keen to make our experience a good one.
I don't recall them having to 'veganise' anything and we weren't short of options to choose from! Many of the dishes that took our fancy, were 'naturally' vegan.
Vegan Turkish Delight
I was chuffed when they told us that the Turkish Delight was vegan. I like the idea of being able to have a vegan dessert that's part of the cuisine I've just enjoyed.
Eating out isn't difficult for vegans anymore!
Do you think it's easy to eat out as a vegan, or do you think it's awkward and difficult? I shifted to a vegan diet in April 2008 and back then it wasn't easy. A lot of staff didn't know what vegan meant, chefs weren't willing or able to amend dishes, options were limited and sometimes it felt like the options that were there, were included to tick a box, rather than, deliver a good experience. However, it's not like that anymore, and when you scroll down, you'll see how easy it is to eat out.
