Our vegan take away from Hakkaland was delicious!
What to do when you call people over for dinner but don't have the capacity to cook?
I've heard a few murmurs about Hakkaland but hadn't managed to try them out. This is relevant! :)
We were due to go over to someone's for dinner, but not too long before we were going to leave, we heard that they were struggling. Nobody wanted to cancel, so we opted for ordering takeaway.
They suggested Hakkaland. They'd been and eaten in their restaurant before and liked their food. Through WhatsApp, we all looked at the menus and chose what to order. Oh my goodness! What a treat! Here's what we got:-
- King Pao Potato
- Tofu Salt n Pepper
- Mixed Vegetable Sapo
- Gobi Manchurian
- Tofu Black Bean Sauce
- Stir Fried Packchoi
- Vegetable Fried Rice
- Schezuan Fried Rice
- Buddha's Delight
How many people did we order for?
We ordered with four people in mind and we managed to finish most of it! We all had our own favourites, but overall, we finished our meal feeling happy and more than satisfied!
Did the food stay how it was meant to?
We weren't ready to eat when the food arrived, so we heated it before we ate. We used the microwave for most of the items and the oven for the tofu. We were happy with the way the dishes turned out in terms of texture, crispiness and moisture.
Hakkaland serves meat, vegetarian food and vegan options. I can't speak for the first two, but the vegan food was delicious! Whether it be eat-in or take away, I would definitely order from Hakkaland again.
If you wanted to invite friends over and enjoy take away where would you order from?
