Find out why my eyes couldn't cope when I went to the Dough Society!
Update July 2018: Dough Society has closed permanently
Dough Society: from market stall to donut shop in two years!
Dough Society went from having a market stall to opening their own donut shop within two years!
I managed to reach them within 15 minutes of them closing, so a lot of their range had sold out, but it was worth the trip!
I've never seen to many different donuts! Ever!
This is why my eyes couldn't cope. Even though lots of their flavours had sold out, the mind boggled whilst trying to process the choices they usually have! It was amazing!
A bit about Dough Society
Dough Society is a vegan business which specialises in handmade fried brioche donuts. They came about to fill the gap in the market. You guessed it. The gap was good quality, large, vegan donuts that would be hand glazed.
Since 2016 they have had a stall in an East London food market, but they now have their own all-vegan coffee and donut shop!
What I got from the Dough Society
I opted for three donuts!
Chai
Peanut Pretzel
Coffee Nut
Of course, I didn't scoff them all myself! They were for me and the hubby to share.
Ten years can make such a difference!
When I first went vegan, just over ten years ago, I would never have imagined that being vegan would not just become easy, but that we would have access to a huge range of vegan desserts, be able to eat out in high street restaurants and be able to get substitutes for cheese and yoghurt in regular supermarkets!
Myth: "Vegans must have to miss out on so many different foods!"
Hopefully, this article helps bust the myth that being vegan is difficult.
