Farmacy: delicious food without refined sugars, additives and chemicals
"Vegan food is boring, and isn't satisfying!!!"
I've had a couple of people share their assumption that vegans have little choice, and therefore, the food must be boring, because of all the things we won't eat. Generally, they have been people who haven't been exposed to vegetarian food, and don't know about the abundance of choices vegetarians have. Veganism, in this day and age, isn't hard at all, and most vegetarian foods can be veganised without breaking a sweat. This doesn't mean cutting ingredients out and accepting what's left; it means using alternatives and having a full meal that leaves you feeling content at the minimum and spoilt at best.
So there is lots of choice, and food isn't boring. What about eating out?
"Eating out must be a nightmare for vegans!!!"
This article is specifically about eating in Farmacy, but I've written plenty of reviews about other cafes and restaurants, which within a glance, you'll see that eating out isn't difficult at all.
The look and feel of Farmacy in West London
When I walked into Farmacy I liked what I saw, but then we were seated at a table which was opposite the bar, and parallel with the door. At this point, I was positively distracted. I loved being able to see the bar, the kitchen and the gorgeous decor above.
What does Farmacy place importance on? Here's what they want us to know about the ingredients, their ethics and their motivations...
The food at Farmacy in West London
I've been to Farmacy twice and I've enjoyed both meals. The first time I went was with someone who doesn't eat all root vegetables, so we ordered vegan food without onion, garlic, and potatoes. Many people can't envisage food without the flavourful onion and garlic, but I can assure you that we didn't miss out at all. The food was delicious.
The second time I went was for my birthday. I left feeling excited, grateful for being there and delighted with the meal!
The staff are friendly and humble, the surroundings are vibrant, the atmosphere is fun and full of chatter, and the menu gives the mind a lot to choose from.
Myth busting about vegan food, available choices and eating out
So...would I return to Farmacy? Oh yes!
Do I think vegan food is boring? Definitely not!
Is it hard for vegans to eat out and find vegan options? Nope.
