The Montali Country House
We stayed at this hotel in Umbria a couple of years ago and it was heavenly!
The perfect place to switch off
Why? Well, there’s no TV and GPS doesn’t work in the area. So it’s a great place to switch off, centre yourself, and be nourished.
The country house is at the top of a hill, where it’s quiet, peaceful, and calm. It’s located in the middle of an olive field, from which the owners make their own olive oil. You’ll get to taste that during your stay.
The food
The hotel is vegetarian and I think that’s awesome!
We went here with friends who were also vegan and the owner, Alberto, said that catering for us would be fine. Oh my! It was more than fine! We were so spoilt! It was wonderful.

When are they open?
The hotel is open from mid-May to mid-September. They have guests who come and stay once or more every year and they have others, like us, who have never been before. Regardless of who we were, how often (or not) we’d been, where we were from or which languages we spoke, our stay had a wonderful family feel to it.
Would I visit this country house again?
Definitely!
it was beautiful and peaceful
the food was lovely
the staff were friendly
it felt homely
getting out and about was easy and there were a number of places that were nearby
