A delicious Afternoon Tea by The Vegan Cakery
Mr. and Mrs. Cakery
The people behind The Vegan Cakery are Michelle and Marc. Michelle creates the recipes, makes the wonderful food and is at the centre of the business. Her hubby, Marc, helps out with deliveries, serving during the events, logistics and more.
You can see Mr. Cakery in the photo above. He’d spent the day serving people who had come for the Afternoon Tea in London with hungry bellies and curious eyes. He doesn’t look tired or grumpy and I think it’s because he and Michelle don’t look at the business as a profit-making machine. They see it as a way to show people that veganism doesn’t mean missing out, that vegans can enjoy desserts that others would think are impossible to veganise and that it’s a way of raising awareness amongst vegans and non-vegans alike.
The amazing venue where the vegan Afternoon Tea was organised
Oh my! The venue was stunning!
The setup
The venue allowed for the tables to be arranged in a way which looked good and provided enough space so that Marc could serve items and remove empties easily, as well as, giving guests the space to talk without feeling as if they would disturb or overhear others.
The menu
In the photo below, you’ll see what was in store for us. I was so excited!
The tea
I loved these little bottles of tea, which we were encouraged to open and explore before choosing what we wanted to drink.
The food!
The food was wonderful and it was a good amount!
Out of all the sandwiches, I think the cheese and spring onion was my favourite.
The sweet items
What can I say?
They looked wonderful.
They were tasty.
They were nice and light.
It was just such a treat.
I think my favourite was the Passion Fruit and Coconut Bakewell.
What did I think of it?
I thought the venue, the food and the experience were great and I’d definitely do it again.
