What does Comfort Candy specialise in selling?

We have a variety of Vegan caramels and confections.

Comfort Candy is handmade in small batches with the highest quality ingredients. We make all of our batches to order so that our customers receive only the freshest products at all times.

Where is Comfort Candy based?

We are based in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Do you exclusively serve those who are local to you or can others who are further away access your products too? If so, how?

We happily sell our products to everyone through our Comfort Candy website.

What inspired you to create a business that solely focuses on vegan treats?

I am very passionate about the welfare of animals and the planet as a whole. I also have a great passion for cooking, baking, and making candy. I wanted to find a way to combine my interests and start a new business venture that would help us move a little step closer to a cruelty free world.

How easy is it for you to source cruelty free ingredients for your products?

It has been extremely easy!

Do these ingredients effect the outcome in comparison with non vegan treats?

It took a lot of experimentation and taste testing, but we have definitely found winning recipes for all of our candy, which taste even better than non-vegan recipes. We make all of our caramels with love. I think that’s the most important ingredient and we have no problem sourcing that! We love all animals and our beautiful mother Earth! Comfort Candies are a true guilt-free delight!

For someone who hasn't tasted your products before & is indecisive about what to buy; is there a particularly popular one you can name?

Our three most popular caramels are:

Salted Chocolate Bites - they are salty and chocolatey on the outside and gooey and caramelly on the inside.
Mr. Coco Island Bars (my personal favourite) - the magic is on the inside... gooey caramel, luscious coconut filling, almonds, and dipped in the finest quality chocolate.
Turtle Bites - delicious caramel topped with fresh roasted pecans, then drizzled with chocolate.

Are you owned by, or in partnership with, another company that does test on animals or sell non-vegan products?

I am the sole owner of Comfort Candy. There is no animal testing and animal products are not used.

Tell me a bit about yourself before you launched Comfort Candy

I have been in business for myself for over 15 years, running a home - based daycare for children aged 6 months – 13 years of age. I am also a proud single mother of two amazing children who keep me very busy and fulfilled.

What is your vision for the future of Comfort Candy?

Our plan is to move our products to the shelves of not just those of speciality and vegan based businesses, but to mainstream retailers as well. We want to get our products on as many shelves as we can, so that people have access to a better product. We want to get our product to the masses so that we can influence people to change to a cruelty free diet.
