The time to think about advent calendars is soon approaching...
Advent calendars as a child
When I was growing up, I remember us having a Christmas Tree, presents and a huge Christmas Cracker but I don’t think I ever had an advent calendar. I’m not complaining. I’m just explaining that last year was the first time that I remember thinking about it and wanting one enough to do a bit of research and then order one.
That led me to order them for my nieces and nephews and I really enjoyed gifting these vegan treats to them. I especially loved that some of them received them in the post because they’re not local to me. Don’t you just love getting things in the post? I think there’s something special about getting gifts in the post.
Advent calendars in 2022
So as I was saying, I did a bit of research and ordered one but that number grew and I ended up having a few. I didn’t treat it like a traditional advent calendar and basically just opened them up and enjoyed the contents when I fancied it! :)
Which advent calendars did I buy?
The calendars I purchased were:
If you click on these links after December 2023, the links may not work. If that’s the case, please search using the name brand and the words ‘advent calendar’ and I’m sure you’ll find the most current link.
The link I’ve used for Truffle Pig isn’t current but you can use it to message them and find out more.
What I loved about the calendars
This is what I really enjoyed about these advent calendars:
that there were so many companies that created vegan advent calendars
the novelty aspect of them
that I had to do a bit of work to get to them
the variety of flavours
the different textures
the contents! :)
What I didn’t like about them
What I didn’t like about the calendars was:
the packaging
the commercial aspect of Christmas
An advent calendar that I found out about later
I saw this after I already had the selection above so I didn’t buy it but I was chuffed to see it in store
The one above is from Moo Free
So over to you… Have you had any yourself? Have you gifted them?
