My favourite tried and tAsted vegan chocolates
Me and chocolate
I spent a lot of my childhood in a newsagent because my parents ran one. I’ve been told that I didn’t really eat much chocolate as a child. I remember liking Marathon, which is now called Snickers, but I could never eat a whole one. I would take a bite of a Mars Bar and then stop because I found it too sweet. I recall liking Mintola and Munchies but my favourites were Wispa, Topic and Picnic. Saying that I didn’t eat them often. The chocolate that I had as a treat, which I had a huge weak spot for was Lindt Lindor Milk Chocolate Truffles! I am looking forward to a vegan version of them coming out.
As a young adult, I don’t remember being that into chocolate either but that must have changed somewhere along the line! :)
Nowadays, I love trying new chocolates and I go through phases when I like having a piece or two on most days and then I can go without for a while.
My favourite vegan chocolates
I’ve tried lots of chocolates since going vegan in 2008 and these are the ones that I enjoy currently.
Oh my goodness!
These are absolutely delicious! They melt in your mouth and are so so yummy!
Comfort
I don’t know what it is about this but it brings me comfort andjoy at the same time!
So yummy!
Both of us love this bar. It’s got the right amount of sweetness, which is complimented by the salt & it’s a great size!
Smooth
This chocolate has just the right amount of sweetness.
It’s smooth and melts in the mouth.
Moreish
These truffles are from Carluccio’s. They’re nutty and so moreish that I have never been able to stop at one.
Amazing!
It’s smooth, creamy, milky and has a delicious taste that I can’t pinpoint but it’s also healthy!
Coffee
I lurve coffee in chocolate or cake and these are so good. They’re quite sweet so I’m usually satisfied with one.
Smooth & nutty
This is another one that’s smooth and melts in your mouth. It’s got a subtle nutty flavour and I usually ‘have to have’ a couple of pieces.
Salty & sweet
Light with just the right amount of sweetness and then the salt, which compliments the caramel and makes it yum!
Dreamy
I love the flavours and texture of these truffles. I feel content after eating one.
Restraint needed!
I don’t know what it is about this but I find it really tricky to not eat the whole thing.
Soft yet not
I enjoy the centre, which is soft, smooth and soothing and then there’s the nut. Yum!
Simply stunning
I’ve tried many of Solkiki’s range but this bar stands out for me. It’s just right in terms of sweetness and it’s smooth and creamy.
