Vegan options in Cambridge
Vacation
We went to stay in Cambridge for a few days. A short getaway with loved ones. It was a difficult trip because Cambridge is bursting with vegan options!
The Old Bicycle Shop
Our first experience of eating out in Cambridge was at The Old Bicycle Shop. A few bits and bobs about this restaurant.
they have a range of vegan options
there’s a fair bit of seating in there
it’s a restaurant and bar
it’s quirky and really fun to look at the way they’ve decorated it
there are some cosy corners to sit and relax
there are high stools so that you can sit by the window
there’s some outdoor seating

I was so glad there were four of us! It meant that we could get a variety of things and share. Here’s what we ordered:
Cornbread, chickpea, tomato & aubergine ragu with courgette ribbons, avocado & toasted pine nuts
Pan-fried spinach gnocchi, miso butter, bok choi, green beans, toasted sesame, crispy shallots
Spicy buffalo cauliflower wings, siracha mayo
Walking around the town
We went for a walk around the town and in the shopping mall and were quite mesmerised by these gorgeous works of art!
The second time we ate out was on the day we were leaving. We ate at DoppleGanger Burger.
this place is fully vegan.
it’s more of a cafe
it’s colourful, bright and family-friendly
there’s some seating inside and even more outside
the staff are accommodating and friendly
there are high stools so that you can sit by the counter
there’s a fair bit of outdoor seating

Again, this is a great place to go with multiple people. My favourite way to eat out: buy more and try more! We got loads of fries! Here’s what we ordered:
The Pizza Fries which are new: air fried fries topped with our homemade pizza sauce and melted mozzerella smothered in pesto and olives.
Kimchi- Kraut Fries: limited Edition Ferment - Air-fried fries loaded with our kimchi-kraut, miso mayo, topped with spring onions, fresh lime juice, chilli flakes and sesame seeds.
Quack Fries: air fried fries with our ranch sauce, crispy d*ck, Korean bbq sauce, and spring onions.
Jack Fries: Fries with our ranch sauce, Korean BBQ pulled jackfruit and smoked gouda style vegan ch*ese.
Limited edition Brownie Honeycomb Shake: honeycomb ice cream, homemade honeycomb pieces, 1 slice of brownie topped with homemade chocolate sauce and even more homemade honeycomb.
I absolutely loved that their fries were air fried!
Finally, we went to a gorgeous café called Bould Brothers Coffee. Twice!
they have some seating inside
they have a couple of tables outside
they have high stools by the window
the staff are lovely - one lady ran after someone to return the umbrella that she forgot in the café
they have a range of plant-based milks so there are a number of vegan drinks to choose from
they have vegan desserts
I’m not a huge fan of coffee. I asked the barista what The Potion was and decided to take a punt and try it. Oh my goodness! It was so yummy, I wanted another one straight away! We were lacking time, so we returned on the day we were leaving and I had The Potion once again before we left Cambridge.
Would I go back to Cambridge?
Definitely! There were a whole load of places that we wanted to eat at but we simply didn’t have the time. So I’d love to go back and explore some more places.
I’d love to hear about your experiences if you’ve been to Cambridge.
