Vegan Instant Teas: tried and tAsted
Chai Karak
I found out about Chai Karak on Instagram and was really keen to try their vegan samples. I ordered a batch and was really glad to be introduced to them.
When would I use these instant teas?
I think they would be really useful to have when you’re travelling and unsure about how easily you’ll find Indian Tea.
Now I’ll talk you through my opinion on each of the teas.
Ginger Chai
I didn’t like this one. I found it too gingery but it wasn’t because I dislike ginger. I put ginger in my Indian Tea but I use fresh ginger. Ground ginger has a very different taste and that’s what I could taste in this tea.
Plain Chai
For those of you who miss dairy or like the taste of dairy milk, I think you’ll love this one. I couldn’t drink it because it tasted too much like dairy milk.
Turmeric Latte
This was absolutely delicious! It made me think of Kesar Dudh, which is a milky drink with saffron in it. I made it, drank it and wanted more! I used half a sachet in a mug but then added the rest of it and preferred that.
Masala Chai
I really liked this one. It was soothing and tasty. I used a whole sachet in a mug.
Cardamom Chai
I liked this one too. I like the taste of cardamom and again, found it soothing and delicious! I started with half a sachet in one mug but then added the rest and loved it.
Two of my three favourites….
Unfortunately, I didn’t take a photo of the Turmeric Latte but you can see the other two below.
Is it hard to go plant-based nowadays?
I think it’s amazing that going plant-based is so easy now. We can purchase instant tea, instant coffee, instant hot chocolate, and that’s just the instant hot drinks! There’s also vegan Horlicks. You can make tea and coffee without batting an eyelid and making Indian tea is just as easy.
Eating out has become effortless.
Vegan travel no longer requires overthinking or over planning.
Making vegan food has always been easy but it’s even easier with substitutes for non-vegan products being available in regular supermarkets.
What do you think? Have I missed anything?
