I've written about Brighton before. With the exception of Food for Friends and VBites, this article includes restaurants I've not been to before.
If you haven't been to Brighton and enjoyed the many vegan options there, I can't say enough about how much I recommend it.

Why did my first visit to Daal Roti, in Stanmore, make me so enthused?
Daal Roti's menu was vast when we popped in for the time in April 2017. The restaurant is pure vegetarian (no eggs), and the menu included many options that could be veganised, or were vegan by accident. Suraj and I chose a couple of items that we wanted, we had a backup plan in mind, in case they weren't/couldn't be made vegan, and we asked the waitress about them.
Ordering was easy. The waitress understood what vegan meant, and she had a good idea about what the dishes contained, so it didn't take long to place our order. It was just as well because I was hangry really needed to eat soon!
So what got me so enthused about Daal Roti?

"Vegan food is boring, and isn't satisfying!!!"
I've had a couple of people share their assumption that vegans have little choice, and therefore, the food must be boring, because of all the things we won't eat. Generally, they have been people who haven't been exposed to vegetarian food, and don't know about the abundance of choices vegetarians have. Veganism, in this day and age, isn't hard at all, and most vegetarian foods can be veganised without breaking a sweat. This doesn't mean cutting ingredients out and accepting what's left; it means using alternatives and having a full meal that leaves you feeling content at the minimum and spoilt at best.
So there is lots of choice, and food isn't boring. What about eating out?

I'd heard murmurs about Old School Vegetarian Restaurant, and then ended up there by accident! A few of us had gone to Kew Gardens, and although we'd discussed having dinner together, I didn't realise they had planned to take me there, and they didn't know that I'd wanted to eat there for a while!

Cristiano Vitelli is a professional pizza chef, and he's one of the owners. He has been exploring going vegan since the summer of 2016. In 2017, he took part in Veganuary and decided to make a permanent shift to veganism. He told me that he couldn't be vegan, whilst cooking and serving non-vegan food, so he transformed PickyWops into a fully vegan business.

Where to go for a 'special' vegan meal
I wanted to go somewhere extra special for my birthday. Somewhere beautiful, where we could indulge in different foods. I contacted a few restaurants, asking if they had/would create a vegan tasting menu for two.
Find out where we dined and what we thought of it.

What's so good about Villa Pompei in Pinner, London?
Villa Pompei is an Italian restaurant that's located in Pinner. It's spacious, and the seating areas are set up, so that large parties have a slightly separate section. Their menu is vast, but the best part of Villa Pompei, is that they don't make their food in advance. This means that they can veganise a huge amount of items on their menu, and it's not bother to them, because they were going to make it from scratch anyway!

Grabbing a bite when you're out and peckish
Hubby and I were out with my brother-in-law when we fancied having a snack. A lot of non-vegans think that it'll be hard work to find something for vegans to eat. Our brother-in-law's been out with us enough to know that it's not an issue, so there was no myth busting or anxiety management needed.
Find out whether we liked eating at Blue Zenzer
