Is it worth asking a restaurant that doesn't cater for vegans, if they can?
Is it worth asking if a restaurant has any vegan options when their menu doesn't show any signs that they do?
Suraj (my hubby) came across a new restaurant (La Tana) on our local High Street. He liked the look of it and once he knew that it was a family run business, he knew I'd want to support it, so he decided to go in and enquire about vegan options.
Luckily for us, the man he came across happened to be the owner. Suraj was so happy about his manner and his willingness to create something special for us, that he arranged to take me there for a 3 course meal! The whole affair was a surprise and I loved it! Everything was so delicious that I've been back with others on a number of occasions.
The unexpected fruits of asking the owners of La Tana if they had vegan options
The restaurant now has a vegan menu, which means that they have vegan options available all the time! If the customer wants a vegan dessert, the restaurant needs a little notice so that they can plan and prepare a delight for us to indulge in!
Below you'll see some of the meals that I've enjoyed at La Tana, however...
Update December 2017: La Tana has closed permanently.
Would you be willing to ask your local restaurant if they could introduce some or more, vegan options for you? If not, I'd love to hear what's stopping you.
