Recipe: Chocolatey Cupcakes
These cupcakes were delicious, moist, had just the right amount of sweetness and they didn't take long to make!
Preparation time - 7 minutes
Cooking time - 25 minutes
Total time - 32 minutes
This recipe makes 12 cupcakes
Ingredients for vegan chocolatey cupcakes
2 cups of plain flour
1 and a half teaspoons of bicarbonate of soda
1 and a half teaspoons of baking powder
1 and a half cups of brown sugar
Half a teaspoon of fine sea salt
2 tablespoons of cacao powder
1 cup of non-dairy milk
Half a cup of apple sauce
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
2 tablespoons of oil
1 packet of giant dark chocolate buttons - I used these
How to make vegan chocolatey cupcakes
Preheat oven to 180 degrees
Put cupcake liners into cupcake tray
Mix all the dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl
Add the wet ingredients and mix all the contents together with your hands
Keep folding in the contents from the bottom of the bowl
Fill each case, making sure it includes one or two buttons
Stop filling them when the liner is 3/4 full because they rise a lot
Bake for 25 and check that the cupcake springs back when you touch it with your finger
Let them cool and then pack them in an airtight container
