What to do when you're out and and about the need to eat arises?
A group of us had met up and gone to La Suite West for afternoon tea. It lasted a while because we used it as an opportunity to eat and drink slowly, whilst having a catch up.
After that, a few of us went for a walk and we realised that if we went home, it would be too late to cook and eat, but it was a little to soon to eat. So we decided to go for a coffee and then find somewhere to eat after that.
Read on to find out if we found anywhere that offered vegan options.

Valentine's Day was different this year
Usually, Suraj and I don't do much for Valentine's Day. We find it quite commercialised and don't like to buy into it. However, this year, Suraj told me to keep the day free because he had some treats planned for us!
One of the treats was dinner at Raw, which is a restaurant in a hotel called La Suite West.

I have ummed and arred about writing this post a fair bit! However, I think it's better that you're aware and empowered, rather than, unaware and disappointed as a result.

Choosing where to eat when meeting up with the family
My hubby and I had planned to meet up with my cousin who doesn't live too far from Holborn. He is a vegetarian so choosing where to eat would be a treat! We'd get to search for veggie restaurants that had vegan options and support a small business at the same time! I love supporting non-chains!
Suraj came across a pop-up called Redemption Bar. It is London’s first alcohol free bar movement, which is designed to allow customers to enjoy themselves without enduring any negative effects of drinking alcohol.

I came across a post on BuzzFeed, which listed 21 unmissable vegan places in London. I had been to some of them but Bonnington Café was one of the ones I'd not eaten at.
My mission was to tick a few boxes in one go. This involved having a lovely meal, going somewhere I hadn't eaten before, time out with a friend and gain something that I can share with you.
I'm happy to say that all of the boxes were ticked!

Mixed emotions about booking a ticket to attend VegfestUK 2014
I hadn't been to Vegfest event before and I wasn't too sure what to expect.
You see, a few months ago, I attended the Vdelicious exhibition.
I was there for two reasons. One reason was to, try out and buy, some new products, and the other, was to support the Good Health Box team.
As I walked around as a customer, I was gutted! The stalls were placed on different coloured strips of carpet to show whether they provided vegetarian, vegan or meat products. Why was this a problem?

Pop ups seem to be popping up all over the place at the moment!
Suraj and I found out about the various pop ups in Granary Square a couple of months ago.
It was exciting to see that many of them catered for, or exclusively provided, vegan food.
We couldn't eat any more at the time, so of course, we said we'd go back. Another place to add to the list of places that I want to eat at!
It wasn't a Club Mexicana day when we were there, but I heard lots about it afterwards, and after seeing photos of their creations, I felt like I couldn't get there soon enough!

Many people automatically think that vegans have a really hard time if they want to eat out. This is another example to show that it's not the case. In fact, it's the opposite!
Vegans are not restricted, eating out is not boring and we usually leave feeling chuffed about the meal we've had.
The options may be tailor made for us, they may be listed on the main menu or shown on a separate menu for vegans. Either way, the common experience is that our bellies are full at the end of the meal, so we leave with a smile on our faces.
