Chocolate, chocolate, fudge and more chocolate...
Special birthdays
My hubby’s 40th was coming up. I was aware he couldn’t do what he really wanted to do, so I thought I’d try and make it special for him in different ways. One of the ways was to spoil him with chocolate, as he has a recent love for it! I added a bit of fudge in there too! :)
So, three months before his birthday, on a weekly basis, I started leaving him clues that would help him find his gift. Here are some of the things that he ‘found’ when he successfully followed the clues.
Oh my! I’ve never smelt anything like it!
Before I opened the box, I could smell the chocolates. It was so inviting!
I got them from Vegan Town
These are Suraj’s absolute favourite and he makes really interesting sounds when he’s eating them! It’s very cute to witness.
They’re from Jeavons Toffee
These were from Vegan Town as well.
Salty, sweet and satisfying!
They melted in the mouth and were gooey like salted caramel should be!
This was a bit of a blast from the past, although I don’t recall being able to taste marzipan in the original version.
They’re from Jeavons Toffee
I’m not a fan of peanut butter at the moment so these weren’t my cup of tea but Suraj loved them!!
I got them from Vegan Town.
These were awesome! Another gourmet box of truffles.
I ordered them from Vegan Town.
There are two varieties of Rabble. This one has peanuts and the one in yellow packaging contains hazelnuts. Suraj enjoyed it. I prefer the other version.
I ordered it from Jeavons Toffee
Vegan Town’s famous surprise hamper.
This was awesome as it includes a range of different sweet treats, which if you wanted to source them on your own, you’d have to shop in multiple places.
A nice little box of goodies!
Fab Fudge’s variety boxes are great!
The number and variety of flavours are great and none of them are sickly sweet either.
I ordered the Original Variety Box and the other was the No Booze Box.
This is my absolute favourite from Jeavons and making myself give it to Suraj was a bit tricky but I did it!
They’re from Jeavons Toffee
I would love to gift this selection of truffles to someone.
The flavours are yummy and varied and they made me feel like I was being treated to a range of gourmet chocolates.
I ordered them from Vegan Town
These Malt Lavas are delicious, crunchy and moreish!
It’s far too easy to eat all of them in a couple of sittings!
Jeavons Toffee make these.
I ordered two variety boxes from Fab Fudge. One was the Original Variety Box and the other was the No Booze Box.
I loved the number and variety of flavours and that they weren’t sickly sweet either.
“I could never go vegan! They have such a limited choice of chocolates”
I hope that this article and those listed below, show you how vast the range of vegan chocolate is. Also, please remember that I’ve only touched on what’s available. :)
Supporting vegan businesses
The awesome part of this whole series of gifts is that I supported three vegan businesses. They were Vegan Town, Fab Fudge and Jeavons Toffee.
