Finding satisfaction and gratitude with Zizzi

There was a time that a friend and I were in Harrogate, and both of us suddenly felt Hangry! We were amidst roadworks and scaffolding and couldn't see any restaurants near us. This was made worse by the fact that we didn't know where we were, and neither of us have a good sense of direction!

Luckily, we spotted Zizzi and had a delicious meal there. I was so impressed by the sorbet being so deliciously different; I ordered it twice!

That was a number of years ago and things have changed a lot since then. Find out how Zizzi keeps on making a positive and exciting steps to make vegans meals even better!

What is Shrikhand?

Some describe it as a dessert which transforms ordinary yoghurt into a delicacy. Others think of it as anything from a standard feature of Sunday meals, part of a festive menu, as well as faraal (fasting) food.

Where does Shrikhand come from?

Shrikhand can be found in the western Indian states of Maharashtra and Gujarat. It is often served during Maharashtrian and Gujarati weddings. So in this case, it's viewed as a 'rich' dessert.

Jack Bakes

I came across Jack Bakes through Twitter and have been lucky enough to try some of her goodies! I've tried the mini chocolate cake, mini carrot cake, mini ginger cake, double chocolate and peanut butter cookie, as well as, her chocolate chip cookie. What a treat!

I'm sure many of you will nod your head when you read what Jack wants! " I'd love to be able to walk into a regular coffee shop and order a slice of cake!"

Missy's Vegan Cupcakes

I want you to meet Emma Marshal-Nichols! She was keen on making the shift to a vegan diet, but was being held back by the lack of good vegan cakes! Guess what she did? She researched experimented and started making them herself, after which she made the shift!

There are only a few 'Indian sweets' which I like and this is one of them. It's called Magaj in Gujarat and is known as Besan Ladoo in Maharashtra. The only difference between the two is that Magaj is usually cut in to squares and Besan Ladoo is moulded in a spheres.
